In the heart of Oerlikon, just a few steps from the station, Schaffhauserstrasse 361 represents a perfect encounter between architectural tradition and modern sustainability. Built in 1929, the building has witnessed the transformation of the neighborhood from an industrial center into a lively residential and commercial hub in Zurich.
In 2025, the property underwent a complete refurbishment carried out by A.F.H. Bau GmbH. The intervention preserved the historic character of the building while introducing high standards of energy efficiency and living comfort.
The building has been fully thermally insulated, improving energy performance and the well-being of indoor environments. The meticulously crafted finishes enhance the original aesthetic with a contemporary and elegant language.
A distinctive element of the project is the new 42 kWp photovoltaic system, which makes Schaffhauserstrasse 361 a concrete example of urban sustainability. During the summer, the system covers up to 100% of the building’s daily energy needs, while in the winter months it provides on average 40–50% of consumption, contributing to a significant reduction in environmental impact.
